2015 Townhouse Report

Dear Friend,

Corcoran has been New York’s go-to source for reliable market reporting since 1981. We are happy to continue that tradition with focused studies like the one I’m sending you today.

With fewer than 300 sales in any calendar year, townhouses represent one of the most fascinating niche segments of Manhattan’s residential real estate market. Corcoran’s 2015 Townhouse Report surveys sales of single-family and multi-residence townhouses throughout the borough.

Among its findings:

  • Fewer sales. The number of townhouses sold fell by 12% versus 2014.
  • Record prices. The value in townhouses continued to rise – up 11% over 2014 to $1,730/sf – but at a more leisurely pace than the prior year.
  • More luxury sales than ever. For the first time in 2015, more than half of the townhouses sold traded over $5MM.
  • Upper Manhattan continues to be hot. Thanks to their relative affordability and renovation potential, more townhouses sold in Upper Manhattan in 2015 than in any other area.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about Corcoran’s 2015 Townhouse Report. I welcome the opportunity to be of assistance to you
